HeartSine sells two compact AEDs in the refurbished market that share the same form factor, same Pad-Pak system, same IP56 rating, and same SCOPE biphasic waveform. The differences come down to CPR feedback and price.
The 450P is the right choice when real-time CPR rate coaching is important for your facility particularly environments with untrained responders or where staff turnover means new responders are constantly being onboarded. The refurbished 350P is the right choice when budget is the deciding factor and your facility has well-trained responders who are confident in CPR delivery without real-time feedback.
CPR Rate Advisor — Without a Separate Sensor
Most AEDs with CPR feedback rely on either accelerometer pucks added to the chest or proprietary CPR-specific electrode pads with embedded sensors. The 450P does it differently its CPR Rate Advisor uses the same electrodes that deliver the defibrillation shock, detecting compression rate via the impedance cardiography (ICG) signal that already flows through the pads during the rescue.
What that means practically: no extra hardware to deploy, no separate sensor for the responder to place correctly, and no premium-priced CPR feedback pads as an upgrade. The Rate Advisor is built into the device and works with the same Pad-Pak that delivers the shock. Note: the 450P provides feedback on compression rate only not compression depth. For depth feedback as well, the ZOLL AED Plus or AED 3 are the alternatives.
Among the Lightest AEDsAt just 2.4 pounds, the 450P is one of the smallest and lightest AEDs on the market. Compact enough for vehicle storage, athletic trainer kits, marine vessels, and travel deployments where every ounce matters.
IP56 Industry-Leading RatingThe IP56 rating is among the highest dust and water protection levels in the AED industry exceeding the IP55 rating of most competitive AEDs. Built for industrial, outdoor, and marine environments.
Pad-Pak Unified CartridgeSingle cartridge contains both battery and adult electrodes with one shared 4-year expiration date. Cuts AED maintenance tracking complexity roughly in half compared to AEDs with separate pad and battery cycles.
SCOPE Biphasic WaveformHeartSine's proprietary Self-Compensating Output Pulse Envelope an escalating, low-energy biphasic waveform that automatically adjusts for patient impedance, delivering effective therapy while minimizing energy exposure.
Two-Button OperationSimplified user interface on/off and shock buttons are the only controls. Designed so any responder, trained or untrained, can operate the device confidently in a high-stress emergency.
Lit Visual Prompts + Voice GuidanceStep-by-step visual diagrams light up on the device display, synchronized with verbal instructions. Critical for both quiet environments where voice prompts are clear and noisy environments where visual prompts are the primary guide.
Military-Grade Drop TestedTested to military drop standards for vibration and impact resistance. Combined with the IP56 dust/water rating, the 450P is genuinely rugged designed to survive real-world deployment in challenging environments.
FAA Aviation CertifiedThe TSO-C142a Aviation Pad-Pak (sold separately) makes the 450P FAA-approved for use on commercial aircraft. One of the few AEDs in this size class with formal aviation certification.
LIFELINKcentral CompatibleThe WiFi-equipped variant connects to HeartSine's LIFELINKcentral cloud platform for automated weekly self-test reporting and remote device readiness monitoring. Basic monitoring features available when connected; advanced multi-device fleet features may require subscription.
