ZOLL AED Plus 7-year warranty

Runs on ten standard 123A lithium batteries rather than a proprietary sealed pack, so replacements are available from ordinary retailers.

Uses the one-piece CPR-D-padz electrode with a 5-year shelf life, the longest of any AED pad we stock. Pediatric patients require separate Pedi-padz II.

ZOLL AED 3 8-year warranty

Adds a full-color touchscreen with a visual compression-depth bar gauge alongside the voice prompts, plus WiFi for remote readiness monitoring.

Uses CPR Uni-padz III, a single universal electrode covering both adult and pediatric patients with no pad swap under pressure.

Register the AED 3 or you get six years, not eight

The AED 3's warranty is structured as 6 years standard plus 2 additional years granted on product registration. The extra coverage is not automatic.

The AED Plus carries a flat 7 years with no registration condition, the only 7-year AED warranty in our catalog.

Real CPR Help measures depth, not just rate

ZOLL built the first real-time CPR feedback system, and the distinction still matters when comparing brands.

Real CPR Help uses an accelerometer built into the electrode to measure how deep each compression actually goes, plus how fast they are delivered.

Several competing systems measure rate only. Philips HeartStart models offer a metronome for pacing but no depth or rate measurement at all.

The battery difference worth understanding

Nearly every AED on the market uses a proprietary sealed battery pack you can only buy from the manufacturer or an authorized dealer.

The ZOLL AED Plus does not. It runs on ten 123A lithium cells, the same type sold for cameras and flashlights, which changes what happens if a battery fails unexpectedly.

The ZOLL AED 3 uses a conventional non-rechargeable lithium pack instead.

Pads and replacement parts

The AED Plus and AED 3 use different electrodes. They are not interchangeable, so confirm your model before ordering.

For the AED Plus, order ZOLL CPR-D-padz electrodes for adults, or ZOLL Pedi-padz II for pediatric patients.

For the AED 3, order ZOLL CPR Uni-padz III, which covers both adult and pediatric use from one electrode.

What is the difference between the ZOLL AED Plus and AED 3?

No other AED brand in our catalog does this. Always use fresh, in-date cells from a reliable source.

How long do ZOLL CPR-D-padz last?

Five years from manufacture, the longest pad shelf life of any AED we stock. Most competing brands run about two years.

Replace them immediately after any rescue where the pads were applied, regardless of remaining shelf life.

Why is the ZOLL AED 3 warranty listed as 6 plus 2 years?

The AED 3 carries 6 years standard, with 2 additional years granted when you register the device with ZOLL.

If you never register, you have 6 years of coverage rather than 8. The AED Plus carries a flat 7 years with no registration requirement.

Does the ZOLL AED 3 need separate pediatric pads?

No. CPR Uni-padz III is a single universal electrode covering both adult and pediatric patients, so there is no pad swap during a rescue.

The AED Plus works differently and does require separate ZOLL Pedi-padz II.

Is ZOLL PlusTrac software included?

No. PlusTrac is sold separately with 1-year and 5-year options under their own part numbers.
