The Powerheart G5 ships in several configurations. The one we stock, part number G5A-80C-S, is the fully automatic dual-language version with Intellisense CPR pads included.

That last detail matters. G5 CPR feedback depends on having the ICPR pad variant rather than standard pads, and on this package those pads are in the box.

Fully automatic means no shock button

This configuration delivers the shock itself once it detects a shockable rhythm, after warning bystanders to stand clear. There is no button for the rescuer to press at that moment.

That removes hesitation, which is the most common failure point for untrained responders. A semi-automatic version of the G5 exists if your program requires a manual press.

Intellisense CPR monitors compression depth, rate, and chest recoil, then corrects the rescuer in real time with prompts like press harder and fully release.

Recoil is the part most systems skip. Letting the chest fully return between compressions is what allows the heart to refill with blood, and it is easy to get wrong under stress.

For comparison, HeartSine's 450P measures rate only, and Philips HeartStart models provide a pacing metronome without measuring anything.

Rescue Ready self-testing and dual language

Three-tier automatic self-test

Rescue Ready runs a daily check of the battery, hardware, software and pads, a weekly partial charge of the high-voltage electronics, and a full charge test monthly.

For a site without a dedicated safety officer, that removes most of the manual inspection burden.

One-button language switch

A rescuer can toggle between preset primary and secondary languages mid-rescue with a single button, with no restart and no lost progress.

This SKU ships preset to US English and Latin American Spanish, which suits a mixed-language workforce or community.

User-paced RescueCoach prompts

Prompts wait for the current step to be completed before advancing, rather than running on a fixed timer.

A panicked first-time rescuer cannot fall behind the device, which is a genuine design advantage over timer-driven guidance.

Pads, batteries and accessories

The G5 uses two different adult pad types. The iCPR variant carries the CPR feedback sensor; the standard variant does not.

If CPR feedback matters to you, replace like for like. Order Powerheart G5 iCPR feedback pads rather than the Powerheart G5 standard adult pads.

For patients under 8 years or under 55 lbs, use Powerheart G5 pediatric pads.

Are the CPR feedback pads included?

Yes. This package includes one set of Intellisense CPR adult feedback pads, so the feature works out of the box.

When you reorder, choose the iCPR pad variant rather than the standard adult pads, or you will lose the feedback capability.

What does Intellisense CPR actually measure?

How often does the Powerheart G5 test itself?

Daily for battery, hardware, software and pads. Weekly it partially charges the high-voltage electronics, and monthly it runs a full charge test.

A visible status indicator reflects the result, so a failing battery is caught before it becomes a problem.

Is the Powerheart G5 rugged enough for outdoor use?

It carries an IP55 rating and has passed military-grade drop, shock and vibration testing, which suits gyms, sports fields and semi-outdoor locations.

What happened to the Powerheart G3?

The G3 is discontinued for new sale. The G5 replaced it with faster shock delivery, greater ruggedness, dual-language capability, and an 8-year warranty versus the G3's 7.

Existing G3 owners can still order pads, batteries and accessories, and a refurbished G3 is available.
