How CPR Rate Advisor Actually Works
The 450P detects compression rate through the defibrillation electrodes themselves, using impedance cardiography. No separate accelerometer or puck is attached to the chest.
It measures rate specifically, not compression depth. Some retailers describe it as a depth-and-rate system; HeartSine's own official documentation consistently describes rate only, and that is the claim this article stands behind.
Feedback comes through a green-amber-red LED display plus short voice prompts: "Push faster," "Push slower," "Good speed." If compressions stop entirely, it prompts "Begin CPR" until they resume.
CPR Rate Advisor is restricted to adult patients and automatically disables when a pediatric Pad-Pak is connected.
If you ever use an adult Pad-Pak on a pediatric patient in a genuine emergency, ignore the rate voice prompts; pediatric compression technique is different.

Which One Fits Your Situation
A bystander freezing during a real emergency is a documented concern, not a theoretical one. If that risk worries you more than anything else, the 360P removes the shock-button decision entirely.
If your priority is coaching an untrained rescuer through better CPR while they wait for the shock decision, the 450P is the only model that does that, but you give up fully-automatic delivery to get it.
For a small business with no dedicated safety staff, the 350P is often the simplest starting point: no prescription needed, lowest complexity, and the same 8-year warranty as the other two.
Adult and pediatric Pad-Paks work identically regardless of which of the three AEDs you own. Switching between models later does not mean switching consumables.
