Philips M5070A lithium batteries have a 4-year shelf life from installation and are covered by a 4-year manufacturer warranty. Look for the green check mark (i-button) on the front of the device. Steady green means the AED has passed its automatic self-test and is rescue-ready. A red triangle or audible chirp signals attention is needed, usually a battery or pad replacement. You don't need to open the case or turn on the AED to check readiness.

Yes. The HeartStart OnSite and Home use separate Infant/Child SMART Pads for pediatric rescue. The HeartStart FRx uses the Infant/Child Key, a reusable key that switches the device to a pediatric energy level (50J nominal) while letting you use the same standard SMART Pads II on patients of any age.

Philips HeartStart OnSite, Home, and FRx all carry an 8-year manufacturer warranty on the device, the longest in the AED industry. The M5070A battery carries a 4-year warranty. Pads carry a 2-year warranty equivalent to the printed expiration date.

The M5070A battery is housed inside the AED, accessible through a hatch on the bottom of the unit. Replacement takes under a minute and requires no tools. The pads are pre-connected and stored separately in their sealed pouch with the carry case.
