Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the sale of products and services by Total AEDs ("Company," "we," "us," "our") to the customer ("Customer," "you," "your"). By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before completing a purchase.
2. Orders
2.1 Placing Orders
Orders can be placed through our website, by phone at (855) 286-6384, or by email at [email protected]. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we reserve the right to refuse any order for any reason, including but not limited to product availability, errors in pricing or product information, or concerns about the intended use of the device.
2.2 Order Confirmation
Once your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation email. This email confirms receipt of your order but does not constitute our acceptance of it.
3. Prescription and Regulatory Requirements
3.1 Prescription Requirement
Most states require a physician's prescription for AED ownership. Total AEDs includes the required medical prescription with every applicable order at no additional charge. A small number of models are approved by the FDA for over the counter sale without a prescription; see the specific product page for each device's requirement.
3.2 FDA Status
Every AED sold by Total AEDs holds full FDA premarket approval (PMA), the FDA's most rigorous device review pathway. This requirement has applied to all currently marketed AEDs and their necessary accessories since February 3, 2022, following the FDA's 2015 final order reclassifying AEDs.
3.3 Training Recommendation
An AED is designed to be used by a layperson without medical training, and voice and visual prompts guide the rescuer through each step. Total AEDs nonetheless recommends that anyone responsible for an AED complete a CPR and AED training course through the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or an equivalent provider. An AED is not a substitute for calling emergency medical services, and use of the device does not guarantee a successful resuscitation outcome.
4. Pricing and Payment
4.1 Pricing
All prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice. The price you pay will be the price displayed at the time you place your order.
4.2 Taxes
Applicable taxes will be added to your order based on your shipping address. You are responsible for any additional taxes or duties.
4.3 Payment Terms
Payment is due at the time of order. We accept payment via major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods as displayed on our website. All payments must be received before the shipment of goods.
5. Shipping and Delivery
5.1 Shipping
We ship products to addresses within the United States. Total AEDs offers free standard shipping on qualifying orders of $149 or more within the contiguous United States. Full shipping terms, including processing and transit times, are available on our Shipping Policy page.
5.2 Delivery
While we strive to meet estimated delivery times, we are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier or other factors beyond our control. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery of the products to the carrier.
6. Returns and Refunds
Unopened items in original packaging may generally be returned within 30 days of delivery, and refunds are processed to the original payment method once a return is received and inspected. Because pads and batteries carry manufacturer-printed expiration dates, return eligibility for those items can depend on remaining shelf life at the time of return. Full, current return terms are maintained on a single page to avoid conflicting information; see our Return Policy for complete details before initiating a return.
7. Warranty
7.1 New Products
New AEDs are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which varies by brand and model, generally ranging from 5 to 8 years on the device itself. Pads and batteries are covered separately by their own printed expiration dates rather than a multi-year warranty term. See the specific product page for the exact manufacturer warranty that applies to your device.
7.2 Refurbished Products
Refurbished AEDs sold by Total AEDs include a Total AEDs 2-year limited warranty on parts and labor, in addition to shipping with new OEM pads and battery. This is a warranty provided directly by Total AEDs, not a manufacturer pass-through. See our Refurbished AEDs page for full detail on what this warranty covers.
7.3 Service Warranty
We warrant that any services provided will be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner. If you are not satisfied with our services, please contact us to discuss a resolution.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Total AEDs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising from the use or inability to use our products or services. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page. Your continued use of our services or purchase of our products after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
