The ZOLL AED Plus OEM Surface Mount Cabinet with Alarm (MPN 8000-0817) is the manufacturer's wall cabinet for the ZOLL AED Plus defibrillator. Built and distributed by ZOLL Medical Corporation, the cabinet pairs powder-coated baked-on epoxy steel construction with a full acrylic window and an 85 decibel door-activated alarm.
The cabinet ships with an integrated mounting bracket pre-sized for the AED Plus chassis, so the device seats correctly the first time and the rescue-ready indicator stays visible through the window. Interior depth of 7 inches accommodates the AED Plus on its bracket plus one spare set of electrode pads stored alongside turning the cabinet into a complete rescue station, not just a storage box.
The door-activated alarm is the cabinet's primary tamper deterrent. It sounds the moment the door opens and continues until reset with one of the included keys. The alarm runs on a battery, so installation requires no electrical work just mount, install the battery, test, and the cabinet is rescue-ready.
The 8000-0817 cabinet is engineered specifically for the ZOLL AED Plus. The integrated bracket and interior dimensions are sized for the AED Plus form factor and will not accommodate other AED models.
This cabinet is designed to hold the ZOLL AED Plus without its soft carry case. The AED sits directly on the integrated bracket inside the cabinet. If your facility requires storing the AED Plus inside its carry case, choose the deeper variant or call our team for sizing guidance.
ZOLL makes three OEM storage options for the AED Plus. The right choice depends on whether you need a carry case stored with the AED, how much theft risk your facility carries, and whether retrieval speed or visual visibility matters most.
The 8000-0817 is a surface-mount cabinet no wall cutout, no drywall demolition. It uses an exposed trim face and wall return at the outer edge that overlaps the surrounding wall surface, sitting flush against the wall with mounting holes in the back plate. Setup and alarm instructions ship with the cabinet.
U.S. state laws on AED placement, signage, and registration vary. The ZOLL AED Plus OEM Surface Mount Cabinet with Alarm meets equipment-side requirements for alarmed, publicly visible AED storage in every state. Where you mount it, how you register it, and how you log inspections is governed by your state. Higher-regulation states are summarized below. Verify current requirements with your state EMS authority before installation.
AED registration with local EMS required. Monthly readiness checks must be logged. Signage and AED location notification to building occupants required (Health & Safety Code §1797.196).
AED owners must register with the regional EMS council. Health care facilities and public schools have additional signage and training requirements (Public Health Law §3000-b).
AED owners must notify the local EMS agency of each AED's location. Regular maintenance and physician oversight required (Health & Safety Code §779).
Physical Fitness Facility Medical Emergency Preparedness Act requires AEDs in fitness facilities with trained staff. Public schools (K-12) require AEDs on premises.
AED owners encouraged to register with local EMS. State schools and public buildings have specific placement and training requirements (F.S. §768.1325).
Cardiac Arrest Survival Act provides Good Samaritan protection nationwide. OSHA recommends AED placement in workplaces where cardiac risk or response delay exists. FAA requires AEDs on most commercial aircraft.
