The PRESTAN Professional AED Trainer is for CPR and AED instruction only. It does NOT deliver electric shocks and cannot be used in an actual cardiac arrest emergency. The PRESTAN Professional AED Trainer is the universal CPR/AED training device from the same company that makes the popular PRESTAN Manikins. Unlike brand-specific trainers that mirror a single clinical AED model, the Prestan trainer is designed to teach how AEDs work in general, making it the right tool for instructors who teach mixed-brand workplace classes or who do not yet know which AED their students will encounter in deployment. The PRESTAN Professional AED Trainer with English/Spanish Language (SKU PP-AEDT2-101) is manufactured by PRESTAN, the U.S. training-equipment company best known for the widely-deployed PRESTAN Manikins used in CPR classrooms nationwide. The English/Spanish module is field-replaceable. When AHA guidelines update (currently 2020 with a 2025 update expected), Prestan releases an updated module rather than requiring you to replace the whole trainer. This is a significant cost advantage over trainers with hardcoded firmware that become obsolete with each guideline cycle. The same module slot also accepts an English/French module (PP-AEDT2-102 variant) for programs in regions with different language requirements.

The PRESTAN Professional AED Trainer requires four (4) C-cell alkaline batteries. Some distributor listings indicate the batteries ship pre-installed; others indicate batteries are not included and must be supplied by the buyer. We recommend ordering a 4-pack of fresh C-cell alkaline batteries with the trainer to be safe. The 4-pack trainer SKU requires 16 C-cells total (4 per unit).
