The instructor installs four D-cell batteries, configures language (English or Spanish) and scenario settings, and selects adult or pediatric mode via the ChildMode button. The student opens the trainer, follows the voice prompts to attach the QUIK-STEP training electrodes to a CPR manikin, and performs CPR when prompted. The contact-sensor auto-advance system detects pad placement and chest compressions, advancing the scenario automatically without requiring an instructor remote. Live CPR feedback coaches the student on compression rate, depth, and hand placement during practice. The instructor uses the pause button on the trainer to stop scenarios for teaching moments, then resumes when ready.
