Physio-Control Infant/Child Electrode Pads

Genuine OEM reduced-energy pediatric defibrillation electrodes for the LIFEPAK CR Plus, LIFEPAK EXPRESS, LIFEPAK 1000, and LIFEPAK 500 (pink connector). These pre-gelled, self-adhesive electrodes reduce the AED's delivered energy by a factor of four, so a unit configured to deliver 200, 300, or 360 joules on adult pads instead delivers roughly 50, 75, or 86 joules through these pads, sized specifically for a child's smaller chest. Product Overview

The Physio-Control Infant/Child Electrode Pads (part number 11101-000016, also referenced as 3202380-001) are the manufacturer-authorized pediatric electrode for the LIFEPAK CR Plus, LIFEPAK EXPRESS, LIFEPAK 1000, and LIFEPAK 500 (biphasic units with a pink connector). Physio-Control is now a Stryker brand, and these pads remain the standard pediatric solution for programs still running any of these four device families.

A Built-In Attenuator, Not a Software Setting

These electrodes reduce the AED's delivered energy by a factor of four. If the connected AED is configured to deliver 200, 300, or 360 joules through adult pads, connecting these Infant/Child electrodes instead delivers approximately 50, 75, or 86 joules to the patient. The reduction happens through the electrode itself, not a menu setting the AED, so correct pad selection is what determines correct pediatric energy delivery, not a configuration step a responder has to remember separately.

Sized for a Child's Chest

Beyond the energy reduction, these electrodes are physically smaller than the standard adult LIFEPAK pads, designed to fit a child's chest without the two pads touching or overlapping, which would interfere with correct therapy delivery. They use the same QUIK-COMBO connector design as the adult electrodes, so the connection method itself does not change between adult and pediatric pads on a compatible LIFEPAK unit.

Safety, Considerations, and Common Errors

Confirm Your LIFEPAK Generation Before Ordering 11101-000016 fits the CR Plus, EXPRESS, 1000, and pink-connector 500. It does NOT fit the LIFEPAK CR2, the direct successor to the discontinued CR Plus and EXPRESS. If your program upgraded its AED but not its pediatric pad order, you may be reordering the wrong part. Not for Adult Use These pads reduce delivered energy by a factor of four. Using them on a patient over 8 years or over 55 lbs risks a shock too weak to reliably defibrillate an adult heart. Stock standard adult LIFEPAK electrodes separately.
Never Delay Therapy to Determine Exact Age or Weight If a child is clearly young enough to warrant pediatric pads, use them without stopping to confirm an exact birthdate or precise weight. Per current AHA guidance, if pediatric pads are not available during a pediatric emergency, adult pads may be used as a last resort, because any defibrillation attempt is better than none.
LIFEPAK 500 Units Without a Pink Connector Cannot Be Upgraded Units manufactured before 8/9/02 lack the connector these pads require, and there is no retrofit or adapter available. Confirm your LIFEPAK 500's connector color before ordering.
Check the Expiration Date Every Month Because pediatric pads are almost never deployed, they are frequently the item most likely to expire unused in an AED program. Inspect the staged pediatric set on the same monthly walk-through as the connected adult set.

Yes. 11101-000016 is the correct pediatric electrode for the LIFEPAK CR Plus, confirmed consistently across manufacturer and distributor documentation. It is also compatible with the LIFEPAK EXPRESS, LIFEPAK 1000, and LIFEPAK 500 units built with a pink cable connector.

One important distinction: this is NOT the correct pad for the LIFEPAK CR2, the newer device that replaced the now-discontinued CR Plus and EXPRESS. If you have upgraded your AED to a CR2, order the Pediatric Electrode Pad Starter Kit instead.

How long do 11101-000016 infant pads last?

Can you use adult pads on an infant if 11101-000016 is unavailable?

Only as a last resort. Physio-Control's own guidance instructs responders not to delay therapy trying to determine a patient's precise age or weight. Current AHA guidance similarly allows adult pads on a pediatric patient when pediatric pads are genuinely unavailable, because any defibrillation attempt is better than none.
