Yes, in typical indoor office, school, retail, and light industrial environments. Philips designed the OnSite voice prompts to be clearly audible above background noise up to approximately 85 dB. In very loud environments (manufacturing floors, mechanical rooms, near jet engines above 90 dB), the voice prompts may be harder to hear; in those cases position the rescuer's ear close to the device or move the patient to a quieter location if rescue circumstances allow. The OnSite does not include text or visual prompts on a screen, so audio is the primary guidance channel; this is a tradeoff vs the LCD-equipped ZOLL AED Plus or video-screen Defibtech Lifeline VIEW.
