The HeartSine Adult Pad-Pak (HS-PAD-PAK-01) has a 4-year shelf life from the date of manufacture, the longest combined pad and battery life in the AED industry. The expiration date is printed on the front label of every cartridge. Once activated in a rescue, each Pad-Pak provides up to 60 shocks or 6 hours of continuous monitoring before replacement is required.

The standard Pad-Pak (HS-PAD-PAK-01) is compatible with the Samaritan PAD 300, 300P, 350P, 360P, and 450P. The Pediatric-Pak (HS-PAD-PAK-02) fits the same models. The Aviation Pad-Pak with TSO-C142a certification fits the same units but is the only variant approved for installation on certified aircraft.

Yes, this is HeartSine's signature design feature. The Pad-Pak combines the defibrillation electrode pads and the battery into a single cartridge with one expiration date and one part number. There is no separate HeartSine AED battery or separate pad set sold for the Samaritan PAD line. The Pad-Pak is the entire consumables package.

Replace the HeartSine Pad-Pak every 4 years from the manufacture date, or immediately after any rescue deployment, or whenever the AED status indicator turns red or emits a low-battery chirp. The 4-year cycle is roughly twice as long as the 2-year pad cycles on most other AED brands.

The Adult Pad-Pak (gray cartridge) is for patients 8 years or older or over 55 pounds. The Pediatric-Pak (pink cartridge) is for children 1 to 8 years old or under 55 pounds. The HeartSine AED automatically recognizes which cartridge is installed and adjusts the shock energy accordingly. The Pediatric-Pak is the only FDA-approved pediatric AED cartridge in the U.S. sold without a prescription.

The Aviation Pad-Pak meets the FAA's TSO-C142a Technical Standard Order, the regulatory requirement for any AED consumable installed on a U.S.-registered certified aircraft. It is identical in clinical function to the standard Adult Pad-Pak but is certified, packaged, and documented for aviation use. Standard ground-use Pad-Paks are not legal for installation on certified aircraft.

No prescription is required for HeartSine accessories. The Samaritan PAD 350P is one of the few AEDs cleared by the FDA for over-the-counter sale without a physician's prescription, and its consumables including both the Adult Pad-Pak and the Pediatric-Pak are sold without prescription.

The HeartSine Gateway is a small connectivity module that links each Samaritan PAD AED to LIFELINKcentral, HeartSine's online AED program management platform. The Gateway performs automatic readiness checks, reports expiration dates and rescue events to program managers, and replaces the manual monthly inspection burden for multi-AED fleets.

Yes. The HeartSine Samaritan PAD USB Data Cable connects any 350P, 360P, or 450P AED to a Windows or Mac computer running HeartSine's Saver EVO software, allowing post-rescue download of ECG trace, shock log, time stamps, and CPR-quality data (on the 450P). This data is required by most AED management programs and by the medical director overseeing your PAD program.

Soft carry cases are dust-resistant and splash-resistant but not waterproof. For environments where the AED is exposed to weather, water, or rough handling (sports, marine, outdoor venues, industrial sites), choose a hard-shell case or pair the soft case with the AED's built-in IP56 rating, one of the highest dust- and water-resistance ratings of any AED on the market.
