The Defibtech Stand Alone Training AED is the dedicated, purpose-built training simulator for the clinical Defibtech Lifeline AED. It looks and feels exactly like the production Lifeline that students will encounter in a real rescue, runs on a rechargeable battery for low cost of ownership, ships with reusable training electrode pads and a wireless instructor remote, and is plainly labeled as a training device so it cannot be confused with a live AED in mixed-equipment environments.
The Defibtech Stand Alone Training AED (SKU DCF-350T) is the dedicated training simulator for the clinical Defibtech Lifeline AED, manufactured by Defibtech LLC. It is engineered for CPR and AED instructors teaching AHA Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, and similar programs, plus workplace responder programs, school staff training, fire and EMS recruit instruction, and any setting where students need realistic hands-on AED practice on the Defibtech platform.
"Stand alone" refers to the trainer being a purpose-built, self-contained training device, distinct from a clinical AED that has been temporarily switched into a "trainer mode." This trainer package does not include a CPR manikin (purchase a Prestan, Laerdal, or similar manikin from our CPR Manikins selection). It does not include the clinical Defibtech Lifeline AED or clinical pads; the trainer cannot deliver shocks and is not a substitute for a real AED. Pediatric training pads are typically sold separately if your program covers pediatric defibrillation.

No, and it should not. The trainer ships with reusable training electrode pads designed specifically for repeated classroom use. These pads contain no sensors and no defibrillation circuitry; they exist to demonstrate proper pad placement to students. The clinical Defibtech DDP-100 electrode pads used on a real Lifeline AED are single-use sterile medical consumables with a 2-year shelf life and cannot be reused. Connecting clinical pads to the trainer would waste a costly clinical-grade pad set on a non-clinical device, and may not function correctly because the trainer is not engineered to read clinical pad data.
The trainer uses a rechargeable battery, so the relevant question is "how many classes per charge" rather than "shelf life like a clinical battery." A full charge typically supports multiple classroom sessions; specific run-time depends on how often the trainer's audio and display are active during scenarios. For high-volume training companies, plan to fully recharge overnight between class days. Lithium-ion rechargeable cells degrade over time; for programs running daily classes, plan to replace the rechargeable battery on a multi-year cycle when run-time-per-charge decreases noticeably. Yes, the adult training pads are designed for repeated classroom use. The exact reapplication count depends on how carefully students handle the pads and what manikin surface they are applied to. Hard plastic manikin chests with smooth surfaces are easiest on the adhesive; soft-skin manikins can be harsher. Most instructors report many class-cycles per pad pair before the adhesive degrades to the point where pads slip off the manikin. When that happens, replace the pads from AED Trainer Accessories rather than trying to repair them with tape (which interferes with proper pad placement demonstration).
Yes. The wireless instructor remote control is included in the standard package. The remote allows the instructor to select between pre-programmed rescue scenarios (shockable and non-shockable rhythms), pause the simulation at any point for teaching commentary, and resume on demand.
