It does not include the clinical Defibtech Lifeline VIEW or clinical DDP-2001 electrode pads; the trainer cannot deliver shocks and is not a substitute for a real AED. Using it on a cardiac arrest patient will provide voice prompts and video but no therapy, costing critical minutes. The red rubberized over-molding is designed to make this distinction visually obvious, but always store the trainer separately from your clinical Defibtech Lifeline VIEW, in a clearly labeled training-equipment cabinet, never in the public-access AED cabinet.
The Red Exterior Is a Safety Feature Defibtech's deliberate use of red over-molding on the trainer (vs black on the clinical VIEW) is one of the smartest safety designs in the AED trainer market. Do NOT remove or paint over the red exterior, do NOT apply stickers that obscure the red color, and reinforce the visual cue with explicit "TRAINING UNIT - DOES NOT DELIVER SHOCKS" labels on both sides of the case and the front display area.
