Pediatric Capability (Sold Separately)

Pediatric defibrillation requires Cardiac Science Intellisense Pediatric Electrode Pads (sold separately) for children under 8 years or under 55 pounds. The G5 auto-detects pediatric pads and adjusts shock energy automatically. Per the G5 operator manual, pediatric pads should not be pre-connected to the AED; store them with the device and connect at the time of the pediatric rescue.

The G5's 2-year iCPR pad shelf life is shorter than the LIFEPAK CR2 (4-year QUIK-STEP universal pads) or ZOLL AED Plus (5-year CPR-D-padz). The iCPR pads command a premium over standard non-iCPR Intellisense pads because of the embedded depth sensors. Installation and Placement

The Powerheart G5 is designed for permanent wall-mounted installation in workplaces, schools, gyms, retail, churches, manufacturing facilities, and community spaces. MIL-STD-810G drop and vibration certification means it also handles industrial floor environments and fleet-vehicle deployment without de-rating. Placement decisions drive survival outcomes more than any AED feature: every minute of delay between collapse and defibrillation reduces survival probability by approximately 10 percent.

Position for 90-second access. Place the AED so any responder in the building can reach it, deploy it on the patient, and deliver the first shock within three minutes. This typically means one AED per 60 to 90 seconds of round-trip walking distance.
Mount the cabinet at ADA-compliant height. Under the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, the operable handle should sit no higher than 48 inches above the finished floor for unobstructed forward reach. The G5's 5.7-lb weight is supported by all cabinets in our AED wall cabinets selection.

Cardiac Science Intellisense Pediatric Electrode Pads (sold separately) auto-attenuate shock energy when connected. Per the operator manual, pediatric pads are NOT to be pre-connected to the AED in standby; store them with the device and connect at the time of the pediatric rescue.
The AED Only Shocks When Necessary The RHYTHMx ECG analysis algorithm filters noise and classifies the patient's rhythm as shockable or non-shockable. If the rhythm is not shockable, the G5 will not deliver a shock even if the rescuer presses the shock button (on the semi-automatic variant).
