The Cardiac Science Powerheart AED G3 Simulator (SKU 9021-003) is manufactured by Cardiac Science, now a ZOLL Medical Corporation brand (Cardiac Science was acquired by ZOLL in 2019). It is a specialized training accessory that occupies a different category than the standalone non-shocking trainers in our AED Trainers catalog. The G3 Simulator is a hardware module that connects to a real clinical Powerheart G3 or G3 Pro AED, then feeds simulated ECG waveforms into the device's analysis circuitry so that the AED responds exactly as it would when attached to a real patient. The instructor controls which waveform is generated, when shocks are simulated, and how the rhythm progresses after each shock.

Compatible With Two Clinical G3 Models

The G3 Simulator works with the Cardiac Science Powerheart G3 AED and the Powerheart G3 Pro AED. It does NOT work with the Powerheart G3 Plus, FirstSave, FirstSave G3, or the newer Powerheart G5 platform. The simulator generates eight specifically named ECG waveforms covering both shockable rhythms and non-shockable patterns plus signal artifact. "Convert" Feature: Realistic Post-Shock Rhythm Progression

Most AED training simulators stop at the shock-delivery moment. The G3 Simulator's "convert" feature lets the instructor select a subsequent heart rhythm to display AFTER the simulated shock is delivered. This is significantly more realistic: in actual rescues the patient's rhythm may convert to a new pattern (organized rhythm, return of spontaneous circulation, or persistent VF requiring a second shock). The convert feature lets students see and respond to these post-shock rhythm changes during training, which improves their decision-making readiness for real rescues.

The G3 Simulator is more setup-intensive than a standalone trainer because it integrates with your clinical AED. Initial setup takes approximately 20-30 minutes for instructors familiar with the Powerheart G3 or G3 Pro platforms; allow longer for first-time setup. Routine class-to-class setup, once the simulator is paired with a designated training AED, takes approximately 2-3 minutes.

Designate a dedicated training AED. Strongly recommended: pick one clinical Powerheart G3 or G3 Pro to be the dedicated training device that you connect the simulator to. Do NOT use your primary public-access or apparatus-deployed AED for training; the connection process exposes the device to handling stress that you don't want on your emergency-ready unit.
